Students from countries with visa regime with Ukraine need to get a long-term (type D-13») visa to Ukraine that allows stay in the territory of the country for more than 90 days

Citizens of Azerbaijan, Armenia, Belarus, Georgia, Moldova, Russian Federation, Uzbekistan do not need to open a visa to Ukraine, but they must provide the original or a photocopy of «Invitations to study» when crossing the border of Ukraine as a confirmation of the purpose of
arrival.

The invitation to study is a standard document issued by higher educational establishments in Ukraine. It has all legal grounds and confirms that a student has been admitted to the university and may enter the country to receive appropriate educational services. The invitation contains Surname and First name, passport data of the applicant, full name of the university, name of the chosen academic discipline.

In accordance with the requirements of the legislation of Ukraine
(https://zakon3.rada.gov.ua/laws/show/118-2017%D0%BF) for the processing of a long-term visa of type «D» the applicant submits the original invitation to study in the diplomatic representation of Ukraine abroad.

Citizens of visa-free countries must provide original or photocopy «Invitations to study» when crossing the border of Ukraine as confirmation of the purpose of arrival in Ukraine

Passport document:Completed and signed visa form; current color photos 35*45 mm; Valid health insurance with a minimum cost of 30,000 euros; Evidence of sufficient financial security; Receipts for consular fees; Original «Invitations to study», issued by a higher educational institution and registered inthe manner prescribed by the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine

Pay attention: Documents issued by the competent authorities of another State must be legalized and provided with a duly certified translation in Ukrainian or, if this is not possible, in English.

Upon arrival at the airport (Kyiv, Kharkiv) to pass customs control, a foreign student must have:
- passport (with visa «D» for visa countries)
- Invitation to study (original - for visa countries; original or copy - for visa-free countries)
- Money in the amount of at least $3,000 in cash or on a card to prove its financial solvency

To know the purpose of arrival in Ukraine

According to Article 4 of the Law «On the Legal Status of Foreigners and Stateless Persons» all foreign citizens who have arrived in Ukraine on the purpose of education and for a period of more than 90 days must register Posvidka for temporary residence. The registration is made immediately after enrolment on the order of the chosen educational institution and for the entire duration of the education.

The temporary registration of a foreigner in Ukraine is mandatory if he or she has arrived for more than 90 days.

In accordance with the law, higher education establishments are obliged to provide a place in the student dormitory for all foreign students who come to study.

It should also be borne in mind that the applicant has the right to choose whether to live in a university-provided hostel or to rent a dwelling individually.
